5 Drinks for Better Digestion

The holy month of Ramadan is usually one of the best times to indulge in whatever foods or drinks fasting people like. Unfortunately, most of the time people end up over eating, which no doubt leads to digestion problems.

Therefore, here are five drinks for better digestion

1. Kombucha: It is made by fermenting yeasts and bacteria with sweetened tea. It is a lightly carbonated drink that is rich in probiotics.

Probiotics are healthy bacteria that have many benefits including improving blood sugar, reducing inflammation and improving your overall gut and digestive health.

2. Ginger tea: Drinking ginger tea before or during big meals improves digestive health and prevents heartburn, stomachache and indigestion.

The ginger roots stimulates the saliva flow, bile and gastric juice production, which starts the breakdown of food.

3. Lemongrass tea: lemongrass tea is an amazingly tasty drink that is used as an ancient Chinese medicine remedy to decrease certain stomach issues such as bloating and constipation.

Lemongrass contains a compound called Citral that provides anti-inflammatory benefits. It is also caffeine-free which makes it perfect for after dinner or before bed.

4. Peppermint tea: Peppermint has been used for thousands of years for its health benefits and minty taste.

It contains natural chemicals that help the digestive tract by reducing gut spasms in other words it makes your body more relaxed, the body can easily digest the food after ingesting it.

5. Fennel tea: Fennel is packed in fiber and may help reduce constipation and other digestive problems that cause gas. It also keeps things moving properly in the digestive tract.
