3 Killed, 2 Injured in California's Train-Car Collision

Three people were killed, and two others were seriously injured, as a result of a train collision with a car, in Brentwood, California, USA.

State fire officials said - according to "Al-Hurra" channel today, Monday - that the two who survived the accident - including a child - were seriously injured, and were taken to a medical center.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Earlier this month, two police officers and a suspect were killed in a shooting in El Monte City, southern California, according to the US authorities. The authorities added that the policemen were shot while dealing with a stabbing.

“The city of El Monte is saddened and shocked by tonight’s tragic shooting that killed two of our own police officers,” the police said.

The two officers who were shot were taken to the LAC-USC Medical Center where they died due to their injuries, the authorities said.

"The suspect in the shooting, an unidentified man, was also killed during the exchange of gunfire," the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
