Gad el-Qady, Head of the Egyptian National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) revealed the truth of the link between the October 12, 1992 earthquake, and that of Tuesday, stressing that there is no relationship between the two earthquakes and that the matter is entirely coincidental.

El-Qady said that the earthquakes occurred with a magnitude of 6.4 Richter, and it is large and has a depth of 25.7 km, and is about 420 km away from the nearest Egyptian coast, and this is a very far and safe distance.

He continued, "We are almost daily monitoring an earthquake in Egypt, and we record an earthquake in the area in which today's earthquake occurred unevenly, and we issue a media statement in major cases... Today we recorded three imperceptible earthquakes in Egypt."

The National Earthquake Network works through 70 stations whose locations were carefully selected in light of the seismic history of all of Egypt, and it became impossible for any earthquake to occur without recording and monitoring it, regardless of its strength, even if it was less than zero.

The National Earthquake Network is one of the most modern networks in the world, and Egypt is one of the first countries in the world, North Africa and the Middle East in this field. Its history goes back more than 150 years, and we have the largest seismic history in the world, dating back to more than 5,000 years.
