The 27th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards ceremony is going to be a bit different this year.

As every major awards show tries to find ways to safely take place amid the coronavirus pandemic, the SAG awards announced its plans for the 2021 ceremony, which will air Sunday, April 4, at 9 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. PT on TNT and TBS.

Todd Milliner, Sean Hayes and Kathy Connell, who serves as executive producers of the ceremony, revealed that the entire show will be taped and edited down to a one-hour special.

The show will reportedly not feature a gala banquet, red carpet or any hosts, and will be conducted entirely via Zoom chat, while acceptance speeches are delivered between pre-taped comedy sketches.

The announcement comes few days after the 2021 Golden Globes, hosted bi-coastally by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The show aired live for over three hours and was marred with many numerous technical difficulties. It was criticized by some for its lengthy pacing and run time.
