2 Turkish Soldiers killed, Another Wounded in Kurdistan

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, Thursday, that two of its soldiers were killed and a third wounded in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.

The Turkish defense said that two soldiers were killed and a third wounded after their vehicle was hit in northern Iraq."

Last Monday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that one of its soldiers had been killed in an operation at the Iraqi border area between Hakkari and Cukurca.

Since last June, Turkey has launched a military campaign inside Iraqi territory under the pretext of pursuing the PKK.

These operations caused dozens of casualties from residents of the Iraqi border areas and caused damage to public property.

Iraq handed over more than one protest note, to the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, condemning the military intervention and the failure to respect the good-neighborly pacts.

Baghdad has threatened to resort to the UN Security Council if Ankara insists on continuing its hostile policies
