Sudan announced the killing of 18 citizens in an attack by a Chadian group on the border between the two countries, according to the official news agency “SUNA“.
“SUNA” said that the Sudanese citizens were killed in an ambush in the Bir Saliba area of Sirba municipality, west of the Darfur region, adjacent to the border with Chad.
The Sudanese news agency explained that an armed Chadian group killed the Sudanese while they were tracking the trails of camels that had been stolen.
The deputy head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieut. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti”, participated in the funeral of the dead.
Dagalo called for restraint so that the state can take the necessary measures that preserve their rights, stressing that protecting citizens is the state’s responsibility in terms of the state being responsible for protecting the country’s borders.
