On Monday, 16 Egyptian squash stars advanced to the round of 16 of the Qatar Squash Open. The tournament is taking place between September 30, and October 5.
The advanced Egyptian male stars are Mohamed Zakaria, Mostafa Asal, Karim Abdel Gawad, Fares El Doussoky, Ali Farag, Mazen Hesham, Youssef Soliman, and Tarek Mo'men.
Regarding the women's competitions, the Egyptian female players who advanced to the next round are: Fayrouz Abu El Kheir, Nada Abbas, Nouran Gohar, Hania El Hammamy, Sana Ibrahim, Amina Orfi, Salma El Tayeb, and Rawan El Arabi.
On Monday, PSA announced the international ranking for the final week in September 2024.
For men, the top 10 ranking included five Egyptian players.
Ali Farag headed the ranking to continue his domination for the top of the international rankings.
Mostafa Asal's kept his ranking as the second, Mazen Hesham stay in the fifth place, followed by Karim Abdel Gawad in the 6th, and Tarek Mo'men in the 7th.
For women's, Nour El Sherbiny headed the international ranking of the third week in September and still on the top of the world.
Nouran Gohar kept her place as the second, followed by Hania El Hammamy in the third place.
Rawan Al Arabi came as 8th.
Amina Orfi appeared for the first time among the Top 10 list to be the second youngest player to enter the PSA World’s Top 10 after El Sherbiny.
Early this week, El Sherbiny, and Asal captured the titles of 2024 Paris Squash Open.
