Today, Thursday, the total number of the active cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Israel exceeded the threshold of 4,000.

The health authorities recorded 257 new cases of the disease during the past 24 hours.

The Israeli Ministry of Health confirmed that the total number of corona infections that were monitored in occupied Palestine had reached 19894, including 4,092 active cases.

One hundred forty-eight patients with "COVID-19" disease are receiving treatment in hospitals across Israel, 39 of them are seriously ill, 32 of them on respirators.

The death toll from the Coronavirus in Israel remains at 303 deaths.

Meanwhile, Head of the Communications and Cyber Protection department of the Israeli army (IDF), General Liur Karmali, has become the third senior Israeli general to have been quarantined, along with other officers in his department, during the past two days due to his mixing with a person infected with the Coronavirus.

Military sources confirmed that there were no symptoms of infection to the general.

They added that Karmali would continue to perform his regular duties as possible during the quarantine period.

Also, Commander of the Southern Region of the Israeli army, Herzey Hilevi, and Commander of the Central Command, Tamer Yedai, quarantined recently after they came near two military men with Corona.

Thus, 15% of the senior Israeli generals were quarantined due to the infection with the deadly virus.

Likewise, three brigadier -generals were quarantines for the same reason.

The death toll from the Coronavirus casualties in Israel rose again after the government eased restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the pandemic.

On the other hand, thousands of students in the towns of Jerusalem, Hadera and Beersheba in June were sent home to isolate after teachers in their schools were diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

Education Minister Yoav Galant said any school found with active cases of the virus must immediately close down.

Israels health authorities are expressing concern in recent days over a surge in the Coronavirus infections all across the country, especially in schools and preschools.

According to recent data, some 5,000 students, teachers and staff are now isolating at home.

Thirteen students and teachers were diagnosed with the Coronavirus on June 1 alone, making the total number of 155 school and preschool children, and 39 teachers, to be diagnosed with the virus. All in all, the Education Ministry had shuttered seven preschools and six schools.
