Over 300 volunteers join EU in Alexandria's Beach Clean Up day

CAIRO, Sept 16 (SEE)- Over 300 volunteers joined the European Union (EU) Beach Clean Up event in Alexandria on Saturday.

Beach visitors, Students from Alexandria, members of local environmental initiatives, representatives of the EU Member States along with EU Delegation staff were among the volunteers.

The event aimed to help keep beaches clean. It also introduced the importance of recycling and the risks of plastic waste to marine life.

The EU delegation praised efforts of Alexandria's Governor Abdul Aziz Qansua and Greenish for their collaboration in the event.
