Upon Presidential Instructions... GUC’s Mansour Announces 5 New Openings at Campus

CAIRO, Jan. 17 (SEE) - Several openings took place today at the German University in Egypt (GUC), New Cairo, all attended by Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Transportation Dr. Hisham Arafat, Minister of War Production General Mohamed ElAssar, Minister of Supplies and Internal Trade Dr. Ali Meselhy and other senior officials, along with Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Board of Trustees chairman and Mr. Christian Tunis, Board chairman at global DMG MORI.

Dr. Mansour said: “Today, the world's largest center for research processing is being opened. The day will be the day of Africa and Egypt.”

He added that the openings also included a center for “Egyptian identity” which was established upon a presidential assignment.

He noted in his speech today that along the past months there was cooperation between many sides to establish the Egyptian Identity Center, which was already completed on August 8 2018.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi instructed to establish this center in all Egypt’s regions. His remarks came during the 6th National Youth Conference on July 17, 2018 at Cairo University.

The President also assigned the GUC to complete the work on creating visual identity for the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, during the youth conference in October last year, where the work started with setting certain aspects for creating a distinctive visual identity of the city.

Dr. Mansour added that today also the opening of the first integrated center for the industries associated with advertising services, in cooperation with "Canon", the largest Japanese company specializing in the manufacture of digital cameras and printers. He noted that the digital printing center at GUC has the latest digital printing machine in the world, which is capable of printing on all types of surfaces and has many applications in different fields.

"The university has entered into a strategic partnership, more than 12 years ago, with DMG Mori, the world’s largest company in the production of digital machines with high accuracy, and its total export worth at 4 billion euros on annual basis. This product is one of the main of components at technological industries involved in all heavy and light industries, such as the manufacture of cars, aircraft, ships, submarines and manufacturing machines themselves.

He added that also a solar energy city is being opened today. He described it as a center of excellence in relevant research, which is the largest in the world for renewable energy solutions and research systems. It depends on the integration of many sources of energy; sun, wind, and diesel in one integrated system that achieves a difficult equation, based on a new system which is ‘Fully Separate Island Solution’.

Dr. Mansour added that also there is the opening of the center of design models and plastic industry, which will be also a center of excellence based on a multilateral partnership of the with German and Japanese sides in the design, manufacture, and the production & injection of plastic of various
