Cairo,
Feb. 4 (SEE) One donor rescued about 70 homeless from the cold
weather in Chicago by paying for their stay at some hotels.
According to
the British newspaper "The Independent", this donor had done this
action after he heared about the closing of a shelter that included tens of
people. This shelter was closed because of the explosion of a gas tank which
used to warm the headquarters.
The shelter
was housed between 150 and 200 persons, some of them were collected by the
Christian charity organization "Salvation Army".
The
spokesperson of the non-governmental organization Jacqueline Rachev said
"It's great to have a person who decides to give the homeless a warm
place. We are happy that the displaced persons will enjoy safety, even though
for few days".
This unknown donor
paid many thousand dollars to ensure a warm place in a building is located in
the southern city. There was a very low temperature, as the temperature
recorded 21 C, which led to the killing of 21 person in January 2019.
