A temporary exhibition containing 66 artifacts that were discovered in Tuna el-Gabal region in Al-Minya governorate opened its doors at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Minister of Antiquities Khaled al-Anani, to celebrate the continuous excavation work in Tuna el-Gabal for 100 years.

Sabah Abdel Razek, director general of the Egyptian Museum and Dr. Gomaa Abdel Maksoud, the dean of Faculty of Aracheology at Cairo University, attended the opening ceremony.

Its worth mentioning that Tuna el-Gabal is one of the most critical archaeological sites in Egypt.

Fathi Awad, director of Tuna Al- Gebel stated that this site was used as a tomb in the 15th century since the end of the modern state and the beginning of the late era.

This site is rich in important tourism destinations like the Roman cemetery and the tomb of Petosiris that was uncovered in 1919 by Gustave Lefèvre; the French composer and music educator.

It also contains animal sacred cemetery, Isadora tomb, in addition to two of the frontier reliefs of king Akhenatun. Contributed by Salma Yassin
