CAIRO, Mar. 15 (SEE) - Duchess of Sussex now has new defender amid what her friends call ‘global bullying campaign”.

British ‘Mirror’ quoted hollywood star George Clooney defending his friend Meghan on live television.

The actor appeared on Good Morning Britain and told Charlotte Hawkins and Kate Garroway that she's a "really kind" person and the treatment of her has been "unjust".

The interview took place this morning as the 57-year-old is in the UK, following a dinner with his wife Amal and Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on yesterday.

He opened up to the TV hosts about the criticism his friend has faced, claiming she's done nothing wrong.

He said: "I think it's a little unfair at times. I've seen it when the press can turn on you for ridiculous reasons and almost nothing, and it seemed to be a little unjust since she hasn't done anything.

"She's just living her life, she's a really kind and smart, intelligent young woman and they're a wonderful, loving couple."

This isnt the first time Clooney has defended the Duchess of Sussex. Back in February, he compared Meghan to the late Princess Diana, claiming she was being "vilified".

He said: "She's a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilifed and chased in the same way that Diana was, and it's history repeating itself. And we've seen how that ends."

As well as speaking about the Duchess on GMB, the actor also joked about Prince Charles' dance moves.

"Charles got crazy and started dancing on the tables, we were surprised to see that," he laughed. "He has such good dance moves."

Clooney also commented that Americans are "invading Buckingham Palace", which seems to be the case after the recent announcement that Meghan and Harry have hired Sara Latham as their new head of communications.

Latham previously worked as a campaign advisor for Hillary Clinton and will be based at Buckingham Palace, reporting to the Queen's communications secretary.
