Tourism, Sports, Antiquities Ministers Partake in Pyramids Marathon

CAIRO, Feb. 15 (SEE) - Tourism Minister Rania Al Mashat partook on Friday in a marathon at the Pyramids Plateau with the participation of 4000 racers including 500 ones from 75 various countries.

In the presence of Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani and Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy, Mashat expressed her happiness for partaking in such a great and international event which combines between the cultural tourism and sports tourism.

"The Tourism Ministry supports all efforts which aim at promoting tourism in Egypt with its different types," Mashat noted, adding that the sports tourism is a major type of tourism which attracts various strata from tourists worldwide.

During her speech, the minister pointed to the inauguration of the first sports hotel in the Middle East region in Hurghada.

"This year, Egypt is about to host a great sports event in June which is the 2019 African Cup of Nations, a matter which encourages the ministry to intensify the cultural, sports, and arts events for tourists throughout the year," she further said.

Mashat also hailed the level of organization, thanking the organizing companies for holding such an event in that prestigious way.

Pyramids Marathon 2019 is organized by The TriFactory company which is an Egyptian sports management company specializing in triathlon and endurance sports.
