Egypt “Rolls Out Red Carpet” to 3rd Edition of GMFF

CAIRO, Nov. 26 (SEE)- The annual Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF), which is screened in more than 100 countries simultaneously, has paved its way to Egypt.

Movies will be screened from 28 November to 18 December 2018 at several different locations, both in Cairo and Alexandria. 

The screenings are free of charge and open to the public, in cinemas and cultural centers. Private screenings are being scheduled at embassies, schools and companies. 

The International Office of Migration (IOM)  is hosting the festival and for 2018, the overall theme is “The Promise and Challenge of Migration, and the Positive Contributions Migrants Make to Their Communities.”

This edition’s movies cover common topics on migration, such as ‘Labour Migration,’ ‘Border Management’ and ‘Children on the Move’ with aims to broaden discussions on migration within wider public.

The selection includes short films, documentaries and fiction that cater young and adult audiences alike, captivating stories of people on the move and the impact on the communities receiving them.
