Many people complain about gaining weight, although they are going to the gym every single day.

That could be true, according to a study conducted by Loughborough University over the weekend, which unveiled the cause of overweight in spite of exercising.

The study suggested that practicing exercises might be the main reason for gaining weight in case of excessive eating after working out. The sample of the study, a group of up to 40 volunteers, increased their portions of food by nearly a quarter following a hard work out.

The researchers found that the participants increased their lunch-time portions by 150 calories after working out, which is so hard to lose weight.

'When it comes to weight loss aside from what we eat, a critical factor is how much we eat,' study author and senior lecturer in nutrition Dr. Lewis James said.

"The results of the present study suggest that knowledge of a future exercise session results in an increase in planned energy intake at a meal after exercise, at least in habitual exercisers," he added.
