Student at African School: It was Important Experiment

Many activities and events organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to empower Egyptian youth to exercise leadership. The activities included the African School for the preparation of young African cadres through the collection and consolidation of relations between them.

The Ministry  launched the "Africa Summer School 2063" as part of the fourth edition of the African Awareness Program. It is the first non-regular school to prepare young cadres from the governorates of the Republic and African students.The school introduces a number of African issues among young people in the form of interactive education for the first time.

The vision and objectives of the African School are based on three levels: Egypt 2030 at the national level, the African Union 2063 agenda at the continental level and sustainable development goals 2030 at the international level.

Mohamed Khalaf, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, said that the African school is the first experiment in which young people from all the African countries residing in Egypt to live together and break cultural and geographical barriers, as well as to study courses related to politics, culture, history, and geography of the continent.

He added to “SEE” that the school provides external tours to the most important sites in Egypt such as the House of Representatives, the General Authority for Information and others. The aim lies in integration and coexistence.

He referred to the activities of the school are under the auspices of the Ministry, the African Union and the Faculty of African Studies of the University of Cairo, stressing that the experience of his school was very enjoyable, especially as he gets closely to the customs and ideas of the peoples of the continent.

The African Awareness Program was launched by the Ministry since November 2014, with the aim of changing the stereotypical image of young people towards Africa by introducing African institutions and cultures and promoting effective communication among the people of the continent.
