Springtime!..Tips for Delightful Home

CAIRO, March 16 (SEE)- Spring is a season of colors, beauty and cheerfulness, so apart from dark winter colors, Nourhan Mahmoud, an interior designer introduces tips to change home decoration in line with moderate climate.

Curtains

Mahmoud said heavy winter curtains must be replaced by other colorful light ones in order to allow sunlight to enter home.

Regarding best curtains’ materials, Mahmoud said chiffon fabric is great, referring to choosing colorful ones with bright drawings and shapes.

Living room covers

The designer stressed the importance of changing chairs and sofas’ covers in living room, by choosing new cotton ones with light colors.

“This small touches could totally change people's general mood and make them feel like active, happy and comfortable,” she stressed.

Furthermore, only one new set of colorful bed sheets will make a big difference in bedroom.

Air freshener

"As it’s time for flowers to blossom and their adorable nectar to spread everywhere, a constant use of an air fresher with a fresh scent at home is sufficient to enjoy this season," said Mahmoud.

Also, people could bring flowers with nice scents and arrange them properly in couple of vases, then put each one in a single room.

Aromatic plants

The interior designer confirmed that scattering aromatic plants in kitchen is a good choice.

"Lavender helps in relaxation, while peppermint’s odor is commonly used for clarity of mind," she clarified.

Wall paintings

Mahmoud pointed out that new landscape wall paintings consistent with home furniture colors could affect the whole decoration in a very nice way.

For handmade work addicts, the designer advised them to make simple home wall decorations by using artificial flowers, plants and ribbons.
