Serbian PM meets Egyptian Ambassador to Belgrade

CAIRO, AUG 10 (SEE) Egyptian Ambassador to Belgrade Amr El-Jowaily  met on Wednesday with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries.

El-Jowaily said that the meeting dealt with concrete ideas to increase trade exchange and attract foreign investment, in addition to holding a high-level forum for trade and investment.

He added that the meeting focused on the success of ongoing agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoU) in various economic fields, including telecommunications and technology.

He highlighted that cooperation in the field of tourism is a top priority, as the flow of tourists to Egypt witnessed a steady growth this year. He also called for the resumption of direct flights between Cairo/Hurghada-Belgrade.

For her part, Brnabić expressed appreciation for Egypt's leading role in maintaining regional stability, stressing confidence in the reflection of strong relations between both countries, pointing to the importance of activating mechanisms of bilateral cooperation and resuming the Joint Economic Committee.

El-Jowaily stressed the need to facilitate the issuance of visas for ordinary Egyptian passports, especially those coming to Serbia to carry out economic and cultural activities.
