"Sanabel", an Egyptian firm, was selected to qualify for London Business Conference for six consecutive weeks, to compete with 40 other emerging companies to transform them from a mere idea into fast-growing startups.
Hult Award for Student's Emerging Companies was launched in Egypt to empower university students, support and encouraging start-ups, and help entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into fast-growing new firms at British University in Egypt (BUE) in cooperation with the United Nations.
The emerging ideas of 80 teams were screened and 8 start-up companies were selected.
The top six emerging companies will be selected to present their idea at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The winning firm will get $ 1 million from Bill Clinton, former President of United States. Clinton is funding the project.
Karim Samra, the Operations Director Hult Foundation, explained that for the first time in Egypt, the Foundation is empowering thousands of young students to see themselves as creators, not entrepreneurs, by motivating them to create start-ups that generate economic returns, at the same time solving some challenges.
On the other hand, Ali Saleh Regional Director of HoltBreeze in Egypt, stressed the Summit role, which gives more than 600 students the opportunity to participate in educational workshops on creating ideas, adding values, projects presentation, management of finances and many more.
