Cairo, Sept 23 (SEE)- The President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology Mahmoud Sakr visited on Thursday the Research Center for Regional Development in Upper Egypt to follow up the implementation of the Egyptian-Chinese joint research and development project in the field of solar energy.
The project comes with the implementation of the National Strategy of Science, Technology and Innovation 2030 in the field of technology transfer and local industrialization. Sakr pointed out that a joint agreement was signed to establish a branch for technological activities at the Regional Center for Development in cooperation with Sohag University.
He added that the Academy focuses on supporting innovators in various parts of the country, with the aim of marketing the Academy's support programs for innovation in the fields of water, Textiles, electronics, and petrochemicals.
The solar cell research and development laboratory is worth $ 3 million of joint investments.
