Rosatom Eyeing Egyptian Partners to Run El Dabaa Project

CAIRO, Nov. 23 (SEE) - In cooperation with Nuclear Stations Authority for electricity generation, Rosatom is set to organize a forum for nuclear industry suppliers in Egypt, at one of Cairo's Hotels, on November 25 and 26 2018.

This step comes to make effective the Egyptian nuclear program and also the agreement with the Russian part about establishing the first nuclear station in El Dabaa.

Rosatom's spokesman said that the forum aims at introducing Rosatom's requirements for El Dabaa nuclear project to the Egyptian national companies, in order to increase the companies' opportunities to participate in the construction's activities and in the project's implementation.

"During the forum, Rosatom is going to present the purchasing system and plans for its external projects and projects dedicated for constructing electronuclear stations in different countries,” the spokesman added.

In favor of El Dabaa nuclear project and as a part of the project’s national plan, Rosatom is also going to clarify the available opportunities for suppliers and Egyptian companies to provide tools, and technical arrangements needed for construction and installation, and to set up a project that protects the environment from pollution.

In addition, a seminar is going to take place with the Egyptian media and journalists about the public acceptance for nuclear energy.

Nuclear Stations Authority's Vice-President Abdel Hamid El-Desouky, Rosatom 's director in the Middle East and Africa Alexander Markov, and Deputy Director General for Corporate Development and International Business of Rosatom are going to attend the forum.

In addition, several specialists and experts in the field of electronuclear industries, from Russia and Egypt, are going to be among the attendees.
