Ramadan Darwish wins European Judo Cup in Slovakia

BRATISLAVA, SEPT 3 (SEE)- Egyptian Judo player Ramadan Darwish crowned on Sunday champion of the 100 kg European Cup in Slovakia.

Darwish won the finals against the Serbian champion, to reach a new achievement for the Egyptian Federation.

Hatem Abdul-Akher finished in fifth place among 32 other players who participated in the tournament.

The Judo team is expected to return from Japan on September 17 after ending a camp before heading to the Azerbaijani city of Baku to participate in the World Championship.

Furthermore, Ahmed Raafat, 73 kg, qualified for the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina next month, after finishing in third place in the African Championship.

Alaa Massaad also qualified for the Olympic Games earlier this month.
