CAIRO, Mar. 3 (SEE) - UK Queen Elizabeth II sparked wide concern after she was photographed with a large purple bruise on her hand at Buckingham Palace.

Doctors have explained possible reasons for the monarch state.

The story started when the Queen, 92, posed with Jordan's King Abdullah and Queen Rania, and their son, Crown Prince Hussein who are visiting London. Her left hand looked purple,  as if bruised or otherwise injured, stirring an uproar at many social media users who expressed concern about her majesty’s health.

Express.co.uk reported that doctors have suggested the bruise was most likely caused by a minor injury.

The publication claims the royal may be prone to bruises after a cataract was removed last year.

As people age, their skin gets thinner and they lose some of the fatty layer underneath that protects them from bumps and knocks. They are also more prone to a fall.

Other causes were an injection, drip or blood-thinning medicine.

Buckingham Palace refused to comment.
