CAIRO, Nov. 26 (SEE)- As part of the consolidation of diplomatic relations between China and the Arab countries, especially in the field of public diplomacy, Mr. Qin Yong (Karim), vice president of the Arab-China Exchange Association, will hold a press conference to showcase the most important stations of the organization in the past 12 years.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, November 27 in Cairo with the participation of Dr. Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Sharaf Association for Sustainable Development, Mahmoud Allan, former Egypt Ambassador to China and Ahmed Salam, an expert on Chinese affairs and former Egyptian Media Advisor in Beijing.

The association is dedicated to promoting friendly non-governmental exchanges and cooperation in energy, finance, economy, trade, investment, education and travel in-between China and Arab countries. It also operates as a capital platform to carry out bilateral non-governmental diplomacy.

Mr. Karim said that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to recognize the government of the People's Republic of China thus both countries’ relations are strong.

Karim pointed out that the association has established close relations with the Arab diplomatic missions to China, where visits and field trips of Arab ambassadors and diplomats in China have been organized to cities and areas outside Beijing such as Shandong, Fujian, Gansu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and others to increase their knowledge of the country.

These visits have played a major role in promoting trade, cultural and humanitarian exchanges and cooperation between these provinces and Arab countries and achieved tangible results. Also, a series of exhibitions, forums and seminars have been held in various Chinese cities with the participation of government departments and companies from China and the Arab countries.

It is worth mentioning that the association has made great efforts to serve the exchange and cooperation between inpiduals and companies from both China and Arab countries, where several events have been organized including “Chinese and Arab Summit for Businessmen,” “Chinese and Arab Summit for Women” and others.

In October 2015, Karim established the “Middle East Development and Peace Foundation” as a non-profit and non-governmental organization to serve as a high-level international forum to discuss and achieve peace and security in the Middle East.

The foundation also aims to strengthen China's role as a center for actively participating in the cause of peace and political affairs in the Middle East and to provide international strategic leaders a platform to discuss peace and security issues in order to seek constructive solutions and contribute to the Middle East peace process, prosperity, regional stability and development.
