CAIRO, Nov. 15 (SEE)- Over the course of 13 months, ‘New Kasr Al-Ainy Teaching Hospital’ has been entirely rebuilt to provide better services under the auspices of Cairo University’s President Dr. Mohamed El-Kosht.

In addition to the opening of a full department dedicated to medical tourism, a center of blood transfusion medicine and its derivatives and renovations of the operation rooms.

The new leadership under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Taha, the hospital director, laid out plans and strategy for full development as the negligence of some rooms reached the closure of a complete unit. The renovation work embraced the emergency section and installing electronic screens, examination beds and various medical equipment.

Restorations involved the radiology unit, reception hall, magnetic resonance imaging, catheterization and breast screening as well as the development of intensive care.

In this regard, a board meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Al-Khosht. The meeting concluded with recommendations stressing the vital role of Cairo University in improving the services provided by the hospital as well as emphasizing improving emergency services and assuring the continuous presence of medical personnels at clinics.

Instructions also stressed the importance of treating patients humanely, since the hospital serves the middle class as well as the need to improve nursing services, for its importance in the completion of health service as El-Khosht stressed “Nursing is not a complementary service, but a main part of the medical process.”
