The supreme council of Antiquities president Mustafa Waziri announced that a new cemetery will be discovered on 18 April at west Luxor in Abu Al-Naga’s Arm region.

Suh Jhouti cemetery is considered as the biggest graveyard row that was found in Taiba’s cemetery. The cemetery consists of rows which were built in 3500 B.C. during the modern state era. It belonged to the 18th family of Shaddsu Jehouti; he was the supervisor of king’s Shona grain.

Waziri said that the cemetery has the biggest courtyard in West Taiba and its area covers 100m. He continued that in the cabin they found mud brick and more than 1000 of Oshabti statues.

He explained that the discovery processes at Al-Asasif region started last November. About 3 coffins were founded and weren’t robbed.

According to Waziri, the Prime Minister decided that the new discoveries will be displayed in the new museums that are still being built around the country.

The Antiquities Minister Khaled Al-Anani, Culture Minister Inas Abd Al-Dayem, Health Minister Hala Zayed and Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi attended the announcement.

Al-Anani thanked the PM for his support and interest in archaeology’s projects. About 20 ambassadors from different countries attended the discovery announcement.
