Nasr, Fouad discuss environmental development with World Bank

CAIRO, AUG 18 (SEE)- The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, and the Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad held an extensive meeting on Saturday  with the World Bank delegation headed by Craig Messner, World Economic Senior Economist, in the presence of Dalia Latif, Chief Environmental Specialist at the World Bank Craig Messner.

The meeting discussed the provision of technical support by the World Bank to the Ministry of Environment in the field of pollution management and environmental health, as well as ways of cooperation and reviewing the preliminary results of the study on the use of sustainable transport on air quality.

The Pollution and Environmental Health Management Program includes countries aiming at developing a strategy for air quality management in urban cities through monitoring air pollution with the World Bank.

Nasr stressed the importance of the World Bank's assistance to Egypt in the field of the environment, pointing to the cooperation between the Ministries of Investment, International Cooperation and Environment in supporting this field.

Fuad confirmed that such studies help in the preparation of some operational policies, which will improve the quality of the environment surrounding the citizen.

Messner confirmed the Bank's keenness to support Egypt during the next phase in the field of the environment.

For her part, Latif stressed that the bank is keen to provide support in projects that contribute to improving the living standards of citizens.
