CAIRO, Nov. 25 (SEE)- Head of the Sinai Reconstruction Authority Mohsen Saeed Hamed said on Sunday that the achievements of the anti-terrorist operation in Sinai presented an excellent opportunity for development in the peninsula.

He added that the development rates in the Sinai have doubled, adding that the authority is concerned with the construction of Bedouin houses and internal roads, in addition to the implementation of new projects in El-Arish and Bir al-Abed.

The degree of development will increase further after the completion of the Suez Canal tunnels, indicating that the government's objective is the tripling the number of citizens in the governorate to reach 3 million.

He pointed out that the Armed Forces Engineering Authority are working on a 400 km road network linking Sinai from the Suez tunnel to Sharm el-Sheikh, and another to connect the cities of Dahab and Nuweiba, as well as other residential roads.

The Authority established 12 integrated farms, 30 to 60 feddans each, to provide a working opportunity for the North Sinai residents, in addition to a residence and five feddans for the youth.
