Min. of Culture to Marshal “Cairo Steps” in Upper Egypt

CAIRO, Dec. 18 (SEE)- To assure the role of arts in building human beings and in promoting their behavior to confront extreme ideas, the Ministry of Culture will organize a concert for The Egyptian-German Band “Cairo Steps” , at 12 afternoon on Wednesday, 19 December, on Al- Minia University theater.

Minister of Culture Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem confirmed that the concert is considered as a salutation to the world from the heart of Upper Egypt stressing “this concert carries a noble message calling for love and peace as music is a language that unites people and communities and it also states the values of tolerance and brotherhood among a wide range of students and children of the South, especially young people, as the foundation of our future.”

On his part, Dr. Mustafa Abdel-Nabi, The Head of Al-Minia University, expressed his pride for hosting this activity on Al-Minia University theater, which can accommodate 1800 spectators, assuring that this activity highlights the cooperative efforts of all the state institutions, stressing the role of arts in purifying the soul.

Moreover, he stressed the importance of creativity as one of the complementary tools for education.

It is worth noting that Bassem Darwish, the founder of the Band, conveyed his Egyptian and German colleagues happiness for visiting Upper Egypt and he also declared his pride in belonging to Beni Mazar in Minia Governorate, where he spent his childhood and enjoyed the warmth of social relations.

Darwish also gave a hint about the program of the activity, including Eastern and Western classical music and Jazz; Shams, Ampere, Sultan, Gulf Steps, Café Groppi and Siwa, performed by ” Max Classe” (percussion), Ragheed William (flute), in addition to presenting recitals for singer Ali Al-Helbawi and his band.
