Malaysia offers 40 scholarships to Egyptian students

CAIRO, Aug 7 (SEE) - The Malaysian Embassy in Cairo said on Monday that Malaysia's UCSI University offers 40 scholarships for distinguished Egyptian students.

In a press conference, Malaysian Ambassador in Cairo Mohd Haniff Abd Rahman said that the Malaysian Education Ministry seeks to host 200,000 foreign students by the end of 2020, according to MENA news agency.

Abd Rahman noted that his country provides high-quality education in line with the international education standards, underscoring that Malaysia is ranked 25th worldwide in terms of education, as Malaysian universities are seventh in the ranking of universities worldwide.

He also stressed that Malaysia is a pluralistic country and welcomes visitors from all over the world.

For his part, Vice President of UCSI University Willie Tan said the university seeks to provide students with an opportunity to experience an integrated learning experience through collaborative recruitment programs that include cooperation with 4,000 major companies, offering a greater job opportunity for graduates.

Tan explained that the students are allowed to apply for the faculties of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, engineering, music, education and fine arts till August 27.

UCSI University is ranked 481th worldwide and received the highest ranking in 2018 in Asia.
