Makram Visits Family of Pharmacist Killed in Saudi Arabia

CAIRO, Nov. 16 (SEE) – Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Minister visited on Friday the family of late Ahmed Taha, a pharmacist who was killed in the southern city of Jazan in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night.

The bereaved's family lives in Ain Shams district in Cairo. Makram offered condolences over the death of the young man, voicing full trust in the Saudi legal procedures to punish the perpetrator of the crime.

“All measures had been taken to ensure the body’s return as soon as possible,” the minister added. “The Egyptian Embassy in Saudi Arabia followed up the incident since it took place,” the minister pointed out, noting that the killer had been caught and put in jail.

The minister conveyed the condolences of the Egyptian expats in Saudi Arabia to the victim’s family. In the same context, Egypt’s Ambassador in Riyadh Nasr Zaghloul contacted the family to get posted about their demands, offering condolences to them. A Saudi man entered a pharmacy where Taha, 29, was working and stabbed him seven times using a bladed weapon, leading to his death. The incident was recorded by the pharmacy surveillance cameras.
