It’s Official.. Egypt to Host 2019 AFCON

CAIRO, Jan. 8 (SEE)- The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has declared Egypt as the new host of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Egypt, who has won the cup seven times, snipped the opportunity after being granted 16 votes versus a single vote for its lonely rival South Africa.

Unlike previous years, the 2019 edition will witness the participation of 24 teams instead of 16, who will vie for the title in-between 15 June and 13 July.

This will be the fifth time for Egypt to organize the continental tournament after organizing it in 1959, 1974, 1986 and 2006. So, if you don’t want to miss the fun, book your ticket to Egypt!!
