CAIRO, Sept 10 (SEE) - The inflation rate stood at 294.9 points in August with 1.7% rise from July, a statement by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said on Monday.
"The annual inflation rate stood at 13.6% in August against 33.2% in the same month in 2017," the statement read, according to MENA news agency.
CAPMAS attributed the rise in inflation to an increase in the prices of foodstuffs by 2.8%, and beverages and tobacco by 0.5%.
Also, the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel registered an increase by 0.9%.
