Immigration, Social Solidarity Ministers Open Dyarna Fair

CAIRO, Jan. 23 (SEE) - Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram and Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali inaugurated on Monday Dyarna (Our Home) exhibition for the handicrafts.

The exhibition, held from January 21 till February 5 in Ard el-Maared, Nasr City, was opened in the presence of Director of the National Women Council Dr. Maya Mosri with the participation of a number of Egyptian expats.

Makram stressed the importance of Egyptian expats' attendance at the fair to witness the beauty of the Egyptian art and traditional handicrafts in line with the state's keenness on maintaining on such industries.

Wali, on her part, said that the 5,000-square-meters-exhibition is the largest one this year, as up to 500 exhibitors are partaking in the event, adding: "the Social Solidarity Ministry expects that the fair this year would achieve high revenues."

She also noted that Dyarna exhibitions earned EGP 37 million over the past four years through holding 22 local fairs and two others abroad.

The minister pointed out that 2019 is the year of supporting the handicrafts industry through marketing, training, and financing strategy, saying that Aswan is the guest of honor of the fair this year in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to name Aswan as a capital for the African Youth in 2019.
