Hawas Reveals Ancient Secrets to Ain Shams Students

Iconic Archeologist Dr. Zahi Hawas revealed secrets of ancient Egyptians lives in a lecture he gave yesterday at faculty of commerce, Ain Shams University.

Hawas talked in detailes about building the pyramids, workers' tombs as well as Wadi al-Jarf papyrus, the most important discovery of the 20th century.

He told as well as about the royal mummies, the story of the death of King Tutankhamun and the plot of the women, as well as the latest archaeological discoveries and excavations in the Western Valley of the Kings and the search for the tomb of Ankh Asen Amun.

During his lecture, Hawass asserted that there is nothing called the curse of the pharaohs. He explained that the deaths that happened to the Pharaonic tombs explorers were all traced to the rotten air and the bacteria that formed over thousands of years in tombs.

Hawas detailed how he fell for the field of archeology in the past once he he saw antiques and statues. «Innovation is not confined to a certain study,» he said.

Hawas underscored that the field of archeology needs to be studied and researched. He pointed out that around only 30% of the Egyptian antiquities have been discovered so far.

At the end of the lecture, Dr. Nazmi Abdul Hamid, vice president for Community Service and Environmental Development, gave the University's shield to Dr. Hawas. He considered that the lecture inspired the students and motivated their interest for career success.
