GUC Hosts Latest, Most Technological Digital Printer of Canon (Video)

CAIRO, Dec. 15 (SEE) – Dr. Abdel Fattah Mansour, vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo (GUC) opened the new printing unit in the university, which was equipped with the latest printing technology, by global ‘Cannon Group’, ‘Colorado’ digital printer.

The newest printer is capable of using all materials and products from paper to stainless steel, wood and cars and is a major shift in the printing world in Egypt and the Middle East.

In accordance, the GUC has become a marketing center for the products of major international companies through the existing industrial complex located inside the campus, and includes the top 10 industrial companies in Germany.

The marketing activities are taking place also through specialized centers or train the students and graduates to transfer these experiences.“These capacities encouraged Canon to choose the German University in Cairo as the first university in the world to market its latest products in the field of digital printing, according to the quality management indicators and competitive institutional capacity to achieve the common goals between the two institutions,” said Dr. Mansour.He added that Canon is one of the leading international companies specialized in the field of digital products.“Offering its latest products in the field of digital printing, to be the first of its kind in the world in Egypt and Africa, will benefit the students, researchers and others interested in the industry,” he noted.

It can print on all kinds of paper, wood and stainless materials, on walls, doors and cars, with environment friendly materials and colors, they do not have any print defects, and can be used safely for nurseries, schools and food products.Canon has already visited the university to get to know the preparations to receive this technology.

The opening of the new printing unit at the GUC was attended by Stefano Zenti, executive vice president at Canon Europe, Roman Trnoed thandi, managing director at Canon central & North Africa and Eiji Ota, director Wide Format Printer Group, Emerging Markets Business Unit at Canon Europe.
