GUC honors top ranked Thanawya Amma students, grants scholarships

Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the German University in Cairo Dr Ashraf Mansour said that the university has 55% of the students who placed first places in Egypt, adding that the percentage isn't existed at any university in the world. Mansour expressed his pride of these students, describing them a source of hope.

He was speaking at the GUC event of honoring the top ranked students of Thanawya Amma, hailing the top students who got the GUC scholarships over the past years and became famous internationally, including Akram Amin, the Egyptian first Astronaut, Tarek Zaki, who has five books on the electronic applications and Dr Hussein Adel Fahmy, who got the best adviser in Europe as well as Ghada Wali, who suggested her initiative on launching a visual identity for Luxor at the latest National Youth Conference.

The GUC board of trustees honored about 50 students; 17 students from mathematics sections, 16 others from science section and 17 from the literature section. These students meet the criteria of the GUC annual scholarship. The university scholarship provides accommodation based on availability, transportation and a monthly stipend as well as the study fees for non-Cairo residents.
