Golden Globe announces more presenters

With the 78th Golden Globe awards ceremony approaching, NBC announced a new crop of presenters on Tuesday.

The ceremony's official Twitter account announced that Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Meloni, Rosie Perez and Christian Slater.

The ceremony is set to be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in the first bi-coastal ceremony in New York and Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 28.

The new presenters join Margot Robbie, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Kate Hudson, Kenan Thompson, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kevin Bacon, Sterling K. Brown, Kyra Sedgwick and Susan Kelechi Watson.

Douglas and his wife Zeta-Jones are set to present at The Rainbow Room in New York City, while another couple, Bacon and Sedgwick, will present from The Beverly Hilton Ballroom in Los Angeles. Other Los Angeles presenters include Brown and Watson, though it was not revealed where the newest batch of presenters will present from.

Fey will host the East Coast portions from The Rainbow Room while Poehler will host the West Coast segments from The Beverly Hilton Ballroom. They previously hosted globes in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

The first batch of presenters was announced last Wednesday, which included Awkwafina, Cynthia Erivo, Joaquin Phoenix, Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo and Renée Zellweger.

Netflix led in both television and film nominations, including the drama “Mank,” which led with six nods.” The Trial of the Chicago 7″ followed with five nominations. In the television categories, Netflix’s royal TV series “The Crown” led with six nominations, followed by the comedy TV series “Schitt’s Creek,” with five.

Amazon also earned 10 nods for "Borat 2", "One Night in Miami" and "Small Axe", and Hulu earned 10 nominations as well for "Palm Springs", "Normal People" and others.

US actor Chadwick Boseman, who died last year at the age of 43 after a battle with colon cancer, received a posthumous nomination for his role in the Netflix film “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.

TV pioneer Norman Lear will receive the Carol Burnett Award for his lifetime of achievement, and two-time Oscar winner and humanitarian Jane Fonda will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her outstanding contributions to the industry.

Three women have been nominated for best director at the awards for the first time. Regina King, Chloe Zhao, and Emerald Fennell are up for the prize, which had only previously nominated five women in the Golden Globes’ 77-year history.
