Giraffe Takes Part in Trans-Saharan International Film in Morocco

 CAIRO, Dec. 17 ( SEE)- Only a week after its participation in the Marrakesh International Film Festival, The Giraffe by director Ahmed Magdy is set to take part in the 15th Trans-Saharan International Film Festival in Morocco. It is expected tobe released commercially in cinemas very soon.

The 15th edition of the Trans-Saharan

International Film Festival in Morocco will be held under the theme of

"Cinema, Immigration and Citizenship" with a programme

comprising of three competitions: the Official Competition for Feature Films,

in addition to a Screenplay Award for Young Writers, and a Competition for

Young Short Filmmakers. Moroccan actors Saadia Ladib and Amine

Ennaji will also be honored for their exceptional careers.

The Giraffe landed its world premiere at the 40th Cairo

International Film Festival, followed by its first international

participation at the 17th Marrakech International Film

Festival.

Through the streets of the city that are void

of all but its ghosts, Ahmed is lost and depleted of faith.

Tonight, he must save a girl he doesn't know who is in a lot of trouble. He

finds himself involved with an eccentric group of young people lead by an

enigmatic girl who is trying to uncover the mystery

behind the Giraffe hidden at the zoo    .

Written and directed by Ahmed Magdy, The Giraffe stars Amr

Hosny, Shaza Moharam, Haydi Koussa, Salma Hassan, Rasha Magdy, Mohammed El

Badawy, and Osama Gawish
