CAIRO, July 12 (SEE) - If you have noticed that your followers' number is declining over the next few days, maybe you will blame twitter but the fact is that you have fake accounts.

Beginning from Thursday, Twitter will remove tens of millions of suspicious and unreal accounts from its platform in order to clean the site and make its services better.

The action will reduce the total combined follower count on Twitter by about 6 percent, the company said.

"Most people will see a change of four followers or fewer; others with larger follower counts will experience a more significant drop. We understand this may be hard for some, but we believe accuracy and transparency make Twitter a more trusted service for public conversation," Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s legal, policy, and trust and safety head said.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, for his part, warned in a tweet of the decline in the number of the followers. The company said the decision is part of an effort to “encourage healthy conversation” on the social media platform.

It is known that many social media influencers and celebrities use twitter to direct their numerous followers for something or partaking in their cause célèbre against other famous people there.
