Emerald Holds Workshop for GUC Students

CAIRO, Nov. 15 (SEE) -The library of German University in Cairo (GUC) organized yesterday an introductory workshop for students, researchers and staff members under title "How to use Emerald databases and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank". The workshop was held in cooperation with Emerald, one of the world's leading publishing companies with about 300 magazines, 2,500 books and 1500 educational papers.

The workshop came as Emerald pursues to organize introductory events in all private universities in Egypt after being done with a number of government universities.

Dr. Salah Hijazi, director of the library at GUC, who supervises the workshop said that it came as part of the specialized training program for the Egyptian Knowledge Bank and the international publishers in Egyptian universities.

He added that the event included all the updates at the international publisher's database as well as training the participants on the simplest ways of searching.

[vrview img="" ]Professor Mahinur Ali, training officer at Emerald company in Egypt and the Middle East held a Q and A session in which she answered all of the participants' inquiries in this regard.

The Library of the German University in Cairo is a member of the Association of Libraries in the South West of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, the online databases of Egyptian universities and a member of the Egyptian Library and Information Society. The library databases and electronic journals are accessible throughout the campuses in Cairo and Berlin, whether via wired or wireless communication.
