Celebrating World Heritage Day, the Ministry of Antiquities will announce the recent archaeological discovery in the West Bank tomorrow, in presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli.

The ceremony includes unveiling the statue of King Ramses II after its restoration and re-installation of the Luxor Temple, opening the restored temple of the Abbott and a tour of Karnak temples.

Several ministers, ambassadors, public figures and parliamentarians will attend the event alongside foreign archaeological missions operating in Luxor.

World Heritage Day is celebrated on April 18 each year, promoting awareness of the importance of cultural heritage and to redouble their efforts to protect and preserve the heritage.

The International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) proposed celebrating heritage on this day the in 1982, and it was approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983.
