Egyptian-Chinese cooperation to maximize feasibility of black sand

CAIRO, JUNE 12 (SEE) Assistant Secretary of Defense Medhat al-Nahhas, and Chinese Ambassador to Cairo Song Aiguo witnessed on Tuesday, the signing cermoney of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between The Egyptian "Black Sand" Company of the National Service of the Armed Forces and the Chinese "Weiyuan Minerals" company to establish the Egyptian-Chinese Black Sand Company.

Chairman of the Egyptian Black Sand Company, Major General Ezzedine Saleh, stressed the importance of establishing the company in cooperation with the Chinese side to build a cadre of qualified technical personnel to work in this field, and to use international experts while adhering to international environmental safety standards, and to create national projects that contribute to the  the Egyptian economy and provide  job opportunities for Egyptian youth.

For his part, the representative of the Chinese company praised the level of coordination and understanding between the representatives of both sides, and finishing all procedures related to the establishment of the company, which contributes to the economic feasibility of the project.

The company aims at maximizing the utilization of the available economic resources of the minerals extracted from the black sand, training the Egyptian cadres working in this field, and developing the economy through the mining industry, by covering the needs of the local market, and exporting surplus production to the world market.
