Egypt, Poland share same concerns over Climate Change

CAIRO,Nov.11(SEE)-In preparation for holding the 24th session of Conference of the Parties in Katowice, Poland, Egyptian Minister of Environment Yasmine Foaud inaugurated a meeting of the Group of 77 and China, which shall take place in Cairo.

Foaud hosted the G77+China meeting to manage coordination among the Group’s member states and to unify the developing countries’ stance during the upcoming meetings in regards of funding, technology and building capabilitiescapabilities.

The Group of 77 at the United Nations is a coalition of 134 developing nations, designed to promote its members' collective economic interests and create an enhanced joint negotiating capacity in the United Nations.

During the Convention on Biological Diversity Conference (COP), Egypt will propose an initiative that aims at achieving more integration and coordination among Rio Agreements on biological persity, desertification and climate change.

The COP is the governing body of the Convention, and advances implementation of the Convention through the decisions it takes at its periodic meetings. The 14th meeting of the COP 14 will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, 17 - 29 November 2018.

“It’s important to reach a lot wise decisions that work on executing Paris Agreement and achieve the main goal of the COP; preserving natural systems.
