Minister of Culture Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem decided to open doors of all museums under the Ministry free of charge to Egyptians on the occasion of celebrating the International Museum Day on Saturday morning 17 May.

Dr. Khaled Sorour, Head of the Plastic Arts Sector, said that the Minister of Culture has set up cultural and artistic activities on this occasion to promote Egypt's soft power of culture and arts.

It is noteworthy that the International Council of Museums created the International Museum Day on May 18th 1977. Hence, on 18 May of each year, the world celebrates the importance of museums as educational and cultural hubs.

The event allows museums professionals to communicate with the public and draw attention to the challenges facing museums. They also shed light on the importance of museums as intermediaries for strengthening human ties and community development.
