Davos-Klosteres, Jan. 25 (SEE) - Commercial exchange between Egypt and Armenia is currently estimated to reach 200 million USD. Both countries are looking forward to enhancing cooperation in various areas, especially in the economic field.
On the occasion of the 2019’s World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (WEF), Egyptians PM Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashat and Minister of Investment, and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr met with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan.
The WEF that started on Tuesday
concluded its events today in Davos-Klosteres, Switzerland.
Egyptian and Armenian PMs focused
on the economic cooperation between both countries. To open new and possible
fields of joint investments, they agreed on the necessity of celebrating
commercial forums.
Worth noting is that Egypt is
aspiring to sign a free-trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
As Armenia will preside over the EEU in the current year, Madbouly is counting
on the Armenian support in this regard. The topic was also discussed by both
PMs.
Prior to the event, Madbouly and
the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar met in Cairo with the
Armenian Deputy PM Mher Grigoryan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU)’s
Minister in charge of Trade Veronika Nikishina.
At Cairo’s meeting, they talked
about boosting commercial exchange and tourism between both countries. They
also conversed about Egypt signing a free-trade agreement with the EEU.
