CAIRO, Feb 6 (SEE)- The Egyptian Archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass stated that the world still searching for secrets of Egyptian pyramids, especially the biggest one “Khufu”.

He said the Standing Committee of Egyptian Antiquities told French delegation, that came to Egypt to uncover secret rooms inside pyramids, to work inside king Snefru pyramid in Dahshur.

King Snefru was Khufu’s father and the pyramid’s builder was The Architect Nfr Mtc.

Hem Iunu, son of Snefru, inherited his father’s marvelous building techniques and agreed with King Khufu, when they were young, to build Khufu’s pyramid at Giza plateau.

King Snefru ruled for 54 years and built 4 pyramids, the first one was hierarchical and based in Meidum region, and before the pyramid is completely built, he started building “the bending pyramid” and next to him he built the red or the northern pyramid.

Last pyramid built by Snefru was in Fayoum and it doesn’t contain a burial room.

Then, the king was back to Meidum to build the rest of his first pyramid, that’s why Meidum is considered the start and the end of King Snefru’s ruling.

Hawass believes that Snefru was buried in his first hierarchical pyramid as its architectural elements were well finished.

Next to this pyramid, some tombs of its builders were discovered later.

Other wonder of this pyramid is, the existence of a cold air flow which enters and rises to the highest point inside then goes out, which may indicates building a secret room inside.

In 2008, when a French team were working inside this pyramid, they detected 3 small rooms above one of its inner tunnels.

These rooms were mainly built to reduce pressure inside, the same way as the 5 other rooms built over the third burial room inside Khufu’s pyramid.

On the other hand, a new French-Japanese team hasn’t detected any thing inside this pyramid not even those 3 rooms uncovered previously.

Instead of that, they intensified their work inside Khufu’s pyramid, the hugest ever in Egypt, to know its secrets, and indeed they detected some rooms but declared, in press conference attended by ministry of antiquities, that there are many further secrets and rooms inside still uncovered yet.
