Djokovic Heads into Australian Open Semi-final after Defeating Nishikori

CAIRO, Jan.23 (SEE)- Novak Djokovic qualified through into the Australian Open semi-finals after defeating Kei Nishikori, who quit intra match due to a severe thigh injury.

Djokovic was leading 6-1 4-1 in the quarter-final when Nishikori decided he was unable to continue due to a thigh problem.

Djokovic, who had a great 2018 stated post match "I love to battle, especially against Kei, we've played so many matches. "I hope he can recover, I hope it's not something that is very serious. I'm sorry for everybody for not having a full match tonight."

Djokovic had endured his own physical battle against Daniil Medvedev on Monday and admitted afterwards that his body felt really sore.
