CAIRO, SEP 13 (SEE ) –"Baligh Hamdi" was born in october 1931 and died on Septemper 1993 in Cairo.
He was an Egyptian composer who created hit songs for many prominent Arabic singers, especially during the 1960's and 1970's.
Hamdi learned to play the violin at age 9. He took music lessons from various teachers throughout childhood and teenage years.
Hamdi became a professional musician in 1954 at age 22.
He started his musician career as singer. But very soon he turned to composing, and his compositions got good acceptance in the mid 1950's.

His sound had a classical flavor due to the heavy use of the string orchestra.
He also drew on ideas that were floating around in the contemporary music of his time.
Hamdi contributed in the development and revival of the musical theater provided most of the work: Operetta "Egypt Bride, and operetta Tmarahnp.
He was one of the most composer for songs for Egypt, even he sang some of it personally "Uday El- Nahar , El- Bondokia Atkelmt , Law Aadit , Abarna El- Hazimah ".
He composed songs for prominent Egyptian artists like Oum Kalthoum, Abdel Halim Hafez, and Shadia.

Hamdi presented to Abdel Halim Hafez the best music in 60's and 70's. They include: "Gana El- Howa ,El- Toba, Mououd,
Sawah".
He produced music for many films, plays, television soap operas and radio .
His career began to take off around the same time as the career of Egyptian actor Omar Sharif.
